The effects of aging, including wrinkles, brown or aging spots, erythema (redness), and rosacea are a few of the changes your skin exhibits as you age and deal with sun exposure, air pollutants, and other skin irritants. This treatment is particularly helpful in improving sun damage and age spots. Treating these skin problems used to require a variety of ointments, prescription medications and even skin bleaching. But laser technology, especially the FotoFacial® system from Syneron in use at our spa has revolutionized skin rejuvenation.

 

FotoFacial® involves using focused laser and radio frequency energies to restore skin to a more youthful state. You’ll likely feel a sensation similar to a pinch or the snap of a rubber band, but your skin will show very little redness, allowing you to return to work or normal activities immediately.

 

 

This laser procedure is most commonly used on the face and neck, but can be applied to hands, arms, shoulders, back and other areas of the body.

 

At the beginning of the treatment process, a cool gel will be rubbed on the area to be treated. The gel will allow the transducer to move easily over your skin. The head of the transducer is about a ½ inch from top to bottom and an inch across. 

Following the first treatment, you may notice a slight difference  in your skin's appearance. The treatment program will include a package of 5 treatments which will take place over a 3 ½ to 4-week period. You’ll see gradual improvement after each session, until you attain the final results at the end of treatment. The length of each particular session will depend on the part of the body being treated, but will range from 15 to 60 minutes. Once your treatment program is done, you may want to consider maintenance sessions to keep your skin looking its healthiest. We’ll talk to you to determine the program ideal for your skin.
